How to Find Jewelry Using a Vacuum
Trying to find an earring backing or a small stone that popped out of your ring? If searching for small jewelry is like looking for a needle in a haystack, you don’t have to throw up your hands in surrender. Instead grab an old pair of stockings and your vacuum nozzle and go for a hunt.
Choose a hose nozzle from your vacuum cleaner.Make sure the hose is in working order and that it provides suction to the vacuum cleaner.
Wrap the bottom of the hose with your nylon stockings. If the nylon is still in tact, consider sliding the nylon through the hose foot first.
- Pull nylon tightly so that the hose opening has a tight, smooth nylon covering.
Wrap rubber band around the hose to hold the nylon in place.Wrap rubber band around an area of the hose that is not flexible. The flexible part of the hose provides the air/suction and you don’t want to cut that off.
Turn on vacuum and point nozzle toward the area you plan to search.Run the bottom of the hose along the surface in an effort to attract the jewelry.
